J-Rock Sunday: メーデー [MAYDAY] by Bump of Chicken

image via Google

Remember I mentioned in this post that I love the Japanese rock band Bump of Chicken? Well, here is the song that I guess, got me hooked to their music (and their super-kakoii vocalist and guitarist)... Kyaaa!

I first got to know the band through again, GuitarFreaks and DrumMania, with their song 天体観測 (Tentaikansoku). After that, I started researching on the net until I was able to get info about the members and listen to their other songs, and the rest as they say, is history. And even I can't really believe that so far, BoC is the only band that I painstakingly acquired all the singles and albums from.

Anyway, on to the main topic... I discovered this song while playing DrumMania V5 and this is the first song on the tracklist. When I heard this, I was like "Machigai na!" This is BoC, and only Motoo Fujiwara's unique voice can sound like that! BTW, this one is the title track from their album orbital period.

I love the melody, the instruments, the lyrics... everything! Like, if there's anyone who'd ask what song I'd use to introduce BoC to them, it would be Mayday...
Kore wa saikou no SONG desu!
So here are the video, lyrics, and translation...

TRANSLATION:

I could hear silence from that part of yourself you hate
I’m standing right in front of you, but it sounds so far away

Looking for the source, all I reach are puddles
Supposing this is the human heart, there’s no telling how deep it is

Whether it was me you were calling or not, that doesn’t matter
It’s not really the problem

I wonder if my breath will hold out, to the depths of your heart
I will dive down until I find the part of yourself you drown there
It will be harder the closer I get
But when I breathe again, it will be together with you
Mayday...

I heard that silence again, like before
And if you dive in like you did before

We’ll keep the kisses we shared with each other, careful not to lose them
And in your place, I’ll bring it down to that part of yourself you hate

We’re all separate beings, because we all have our own lives
It’s when we learn what it means to be lonely, that we can recognize
That warmth

Do I have the courage? Once I peek into your heart
I must know each and every pain you hide from me
Instead of letting you get hurt, I will make myself hurt as you do
If there’s no way to share that pain together, I’ll feel it two times
More than you

We’re scared, you and me
To look at ourselves, to have others see us
Or to see into others
But from the depths of the part of ourselves that we drown, we send out
This mayday like a prayer...

The signal echoes
Deep in a chamber of the heart
So this is where you were; come here, don’t run away
Once I’ve found where it’s coming from, I’ll give you this kiss
It’s from yourself, I’ve kept it for you

Do I have the courage? Once my hand takes yours
I’ll take you outside without letting go, you can trust me
Will my breath hold out until we get outside the heart to where it shines
When I finally breathe again, it will be together with you
Mayday...
Mayday...

Rina-chan's Thoughts On: Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer

To tell you honestly, I'm a real late bloomer when it comes to makeup. And even though I feel that I've already improved over time, I still have a lot to learn.

Take for example, eye primers. I've been using eyeshadows for a long time now but it was only this year that I discovered (through beauty blogs) the importance of using this product. It helps make the eyeshadow colors more vibrant and last all day.
Which led me to purchasing my first Etude House product, their Proof 10 Eye Primer!

Oi, why does it have to have such a long handle? (-_-)

Please excuse my veiny hands... m(_ _)m

Price: P298 - purchased at Etude House stall, SM Cubao
I like...
... how it makes the eyeshadow color strong and vivid! I think the photo above speaks for itself, ne?
... how it prevents creases as I have oily lids.
... it's consistency, easy to blend with my ring finger.
... how my eye makeup stays all day, even without retouching!
     ... the price, very affordable.

I don't like...
... the long handle with the applicator. (Then again, it's just me...)
... that it is sometimes out-of-stock in some EH stores.

Apart from those, I'm very satisfied with this product! It never disappointed me, and I will definitely repurchase! That's how much I love it...

Ja ne!

Sweets from my Sweet(heart) ~ ♥

I'm not actually one for surprises but really, sometimes, unexpected things are the best...

He had some photos of me and us printed, then put one in his wallet (the gray one with Mokona) and one in a frame (carousel a la Stairway to Heaven, LOLZ!)

Awww...

And one of my most favorite food on earth... Chocolate! Ureshii!

Just heavenly...

Kisses for my pato

That's it for now, gotta go back to checking out the bass tabs for Bump of Chicken's "Mayday" and "Karma". GLNET is such a God-send...

Random Monday...

Some random things, and thoughts...

...because I love games.

God Eaters on my blue PSP. Codename is "Onihime", Scout Corporal. Japanese school girl look.

...because I love music.

Pink music/headphone theme on my Nokia 5310. "Music is my life..."

...because I love music filling my senses.

Sennheiser PX-100 II. Best headphones I've tried so far, in my whole life. And no, I kid you not.

...because I love playing music I love.

My first electric bass, Ai. Named because of the Japanese decal I had put on her body, Kanji for 'love'.

...because I love Bump of Chicken.

"Mayday", possibly my most favorite song from the band. With lyrics and melody I will never get enough of.

...because I love BoC, I love Motoo Fujiwara.

Sigh, that's all I can do. Oh, and giggles. Gah! I cannot stop myself from being a fangirl. Gomen ne... *Fuji-kuuun!*

LOLZ! XD

Anyway, that's it for now. More random things to come.

Oneechan's Birthday Celebration!

Just a simple-but-fun celebration! Had one of the most delicious spaghetti I've ever tasted, courtesy of Bryan... Hontou ni oishii desu!

Cake for dessert. Then chips and some Tanduay Ice. Too bad Ekai and I were too tired from work and too stuffed with food so soon enough, we're like

Spamming you now with some pics, tee-hee...

Too bad I wasn't able to take pics of the sauce... T_T

CAKE! Omnomnom!

Yes, sometimes we just like to make ourselves look like idiots... XD

Happy birthday Ekai!

Rina-chan's Thoughts On: Majolica Majorca Majoromantica F

The box and the bottle are so damn pretty!

First off, let me tell you that I'm no expert when it comes to perfumes nor do I have the keenest sense of smell for that. If you ask me what is the 'top note', 'middle note', etc. etc... I promise, you will see me do this:

For me, I can only categorize scents such as floral, fruity, musky, cool, sweet, and then you have the terms like 'amoy pang-matanda' (oops!). Yes, I guess I'm as simple-minded as that...

Anyway, moving on... I'm gonna try to do a review on the latest perfume from Majo Majo (and here I thought they only make cosmetics). Bought this at SM Megamall department store. The kind SA allowed me to try it first, and I can say it was love at first whiff! ヽ(´ー`)┌

Majolica Majorca says: "With just one drop of this honey-sweet aphrodisiac from the forest, it will take you into the mysterious forest filled with blooming flowers and fruits. Its thick texture blends well into the skin, giving off a combination of sweet and fruity fragrance."

Top Notes: JUICY FRUITY (juneberry, strawberry, raspberry, mangosteen, apple, lemon, fig, pomegranate)
Middle Notes: FLORAL HERBAL (rose, jasmine, chamomile, clary sage, sweet pea)
Base Notes: SWEET ROMANTIC (vanilla, oakmoss, musk, sandal wood, amber)

And I so agree! It is very sweet-smelling, the kind that makes you feel happy and uplifted with just a whiff! It smells warm and fruity, very feminine.

Even the inside of the box is pink, with the dazzling gold emblem of Majo

I like...
... the scent of course! Perfect for sweet girls (like me... LOLZ!)

Home alone (but not so lonely) on a Saturday night...

Last Saturday, Paul went out with his barkada and I was left here in our apartment. So what is a girl to do? Of course, it's not that I dread being alone; it's just that it's a tad bit lonely. Usually in this scenario, I sit in front of the PC and do marathons of anime while pigging out on chips. But this time, it's different. Good thing I moved in the same apartment as Ekai, so she and Bryan (her mahal) came over...

Marty's -- I like the Salt & Vinegar flavor

Hany -- loads of 'em. I think we were able to eat 20 pieces.

New Zealand keychain I got from a former colleague. Final Fantasy Fenrir keychain I got from Comic Alley.

My old but trusty Nokia 5310 Xpress Music phone with Japanese charms

Oneechan...

...with her Bryan. Yihee! (^__^)

One of our hamsters. Kawaii dessho?
