30-Day Song Challenge: Day 18-22

Oh dear, here I am again squishing a couple days' worth of posts into one... Eheheh... Well, it's gonna be a jam-packed post so let's get on to it!

Day 18: A song that you wish you heard on the radio.

"Wedding Dress" by Matt Nathanson.

I just love LoVe LOVE this song, everything there is about this song! Too bad I've never heard it on the radio. What can I say? I'm quite sure Matt is NOT well-known in this country's music scene. What a shame... 'Nuff said.

Day 19: A song from your favorite album.

"Back To You" by John Mayer.

Probably my most-liked song in his debut studio album Room for Squares. I think this compilation has it all, deserving a spot in my favorites list. I love almost all the songs here, and this is one of the very few albums that I listen to without having to press the skip track button.

Day 20: A song that you listen to when you’re angry.

"Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars.

When I listen to this song, it feels like it absorbs all the negative emotions I have. Perhaps because of the drums (has very fast hi-hat and uncommon snare-bass patterns), along with the orchestra that matches the band's music perfectly. I would imagine myself playing the drums while belting out "We are the kings! We are the queens!"... Argh, please don't mind that bit... Anyway, all in all, it's an epic song.

Day 21: A song that you listen to when you’re happy.

"flyby" by Bump of Chicken.

Don't let the first part's acoustic guitar and 'calm' vocals fool you. Just when you think it's an acoustic piece, the second part of the song bursts into this cool, fast-paced, full band glory! I love it when Motoo sings "flyby!~... byebye!~... Outou negau, zutto outou negau!~..." Whoa, honestly I'm sooo in-love with this guy. Eheheh...  Oh, going back. If you wanna listen to an acoustic song in the same melody, check out "voyager" which is flyby's 'twin' song.

Day 22: A song that you listen to when you’re sad.

"Fuwa Fuwa Time" by Sakurakou Keionbu.

You see, I don't like wallowing in tears and negative thoughts as much as possible. For me, it's enough that I felt sad, disappointed, frustrated, or whatever (of course, it will still depend on the case). I need something to pick me up and bring me right back on track, which is what listening to this song does for me. Its very upbeat sound helps me, so much that I sometimes join in the clapping at the beginning of the song. Tee-hee!

Whew! That's it...

Ja ne!
