October Collective Stuff

Just a quick haul post to update my blog for today. ごめんね、 I can't do a more decent post yet as I'm quite preoccupied right now, thinking about a lot of stuff. Ugh...

So without further ado, here are my acquisitions for October.

From Watsons:
My nth bottle of my favorite Pure Beauty Treatment Conditioner
Olay Natural White Day Cream -- in sachet, I'm on a trial period with it
Myra-E 400 -- I kinda like the effects of this Vitamin E on me
Miine head (uhh, watchamacallit??)

From SM Department Store:
Nivea Creme -- one of my favorite moisturizers
Gluta-C Underarm & Bikini Skin Whitening Gel -- So I gave in to the hype!
Fashion21 white eyeliner -- I lost my first one after doing our makeup for Cosplay Mania...
Maybelline Hypersharp Liner -- Had to buy one in a hurry 'cause my K-Palette appeared to have ran out prematurely... T__T

From Saizen:
A pair of cute, flirty slanted false lashes -- for cosplay purposes

From Etude House:
Oh M'Eye Line in Black -- I purchased this before I decided to get the Maybelline liner, but I still use them both
Lip & Eye Remover -- although the name is quite a bit 'alarming' and interesting, this is my favorite makeup remover

Another thing I was unable to resist: The Oriental Gyeol Goun Two-Way Pact from Tony Moly. I simply adore the powder's case! Will do a review of that soon! The UV Sunset BB Cleansing Foam is a freebie for every Php1500 purchase. Had to persuade Ekai-neechan just a bit to purchase something -- a tube of cleanser (forgot the name) so everything would amount to Php1500 for this. Haha!

My first The Face Shop purchase! I got their Wrinkle Stop Abyssine Eye Cream -- I honestly have high hopes for this product. I'll see... I also availed of their VIP card for Php150 which included that fabulous set of samples! Love it!

Lastly, I went ahead and finally purchased Majolica Majorca Lash King. I am absolutely in-love with this mascara! My favorite MM mascara so far! Will definitely do a review as well soon...

Hmm, looks like there are a quite a number of new products to test. Heehee...

Happy Halloween!

Rina-chan's Thoughts On: GEO WBS-202 Xtra Bella Blue

Back with another circle lens review! This time I have GEO WBS-202 Xtra Bella, which I purchased a couple of months back from Dolly Eye Shoppe. I'm not really a fan of blue lenses but I had to get one for my Rin Okumura cosplay. I still use these even after the event, once or twice a week, alternating with my three other pairs of lenses.

 GEO WBS-202 Xtra Bella Blue

Manufacturer/Origin: GEO Medical Korea
Diameter: 15mm
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Water Content: 38%

Natural indoor light

Artificial light

With flash

Color: ♥♥♥♥♥
These lenses have a very vivid blue color that is obvious even from afar! It's really opaque and  shows up well on my dark brown eyes.

Design: ♥♥♥♥
I'd say it looks quite natural, and the spiky design reminds me of the sun's rays, heehee... I love the thick black limbal ring that makes the eyes look more dolly.

At 15mm, these are perfect for large, doll-like eyes. Still, they won't make you look like a lizard. Just like my Super Nudy Greys, you can wear this with minimal eyemake, IMHO.

Comfort: ♥♥♥
At first, I didn't have any issues with this pair. But after quite some time, I noticed that the lens on my right eye starts to get a tad bit blurry especially in an air-conditioned environment, even after using contact lens drops. When I'm outside, they feel quite fine, though they make my eyes a little tired easily compared to Princess Mimi lenses. I've only been using these for about three months so I don't know...

Overall: ♥♥♥♥
As much as I'd like to say I love these Xtra Bella lenses, I just can't. I like the color and how they enlarge my eyes, but I can't sacrifice comfort. Blurry eyes really annoy the hell out of me. For now, I'm sticking with my Princess Mimi pairs.

Too bad these obviously didn't make the cut for my favorite lenses, so I don't think I'll repurchase. If I have to get blue lenses, I'll look for a different pair.

Liebster Blog Award

A first! Oh gosh, this is the first time my small space on the web has ever been nominated for an award. Thank you so much, Miss Gellie of Taste of My Own Medicine! Go check out her nice blog!

Anyway, I am kinda intrigued by this Liebster Blog Award so I did some searching. The origins of this blog award are quite unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, and that the word 'Liebster' means favorite or beloved. This is to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers, and upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note. Looking at other blogs who received this award, I noticed that some of the rules have changed, including the number of blogs you can nominate. For this one, here are the rules. You will write down 11 random facts about you and then answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you. You must nominate 11 blogs that hasn't been nominated.

05. I am very, deathly, afraid of worms and snakes. Just typing those words made me shudder.

09. I won't be able to sleep alone in total darkness.
10. I wanted to take up Fine Arts in college since I love drawing (you guessed it, anime and manga characters) so much, but I had to switch to Electronics and Communications Engineering. And I sort of regret it...

For the Blood is the Life ~ Becoming Ruka Souen (Vampire Knight)

Or rather, "How to Try Hard and Barely Resemble Ruka Souen". That ought to be the title of this post. LOL! Okay, kidding aside, in this post I will show how I prepared for our Vampire Knight cosplay as Ruka Souen.

Photos via Google

Vampire Knight is one of the anime series I watched way back early 2009 (wow, that made me feel kinda old haha...), it's not exactly my favorite but I liked it. I believe both Erika-neechan and Sachie-chan loved the series and really wanted to cosplay (Yuki and Maria, respectively), so we planned to do this one right after our Ao no Exorcist cosplay.

Honestly, I had a bit of an internal debate with myself as to whether I should do another crossplay as Kaname or stick with Ruka. But after some deliberation, I finally decided to go ahead with being a 'girl' this time around, which is pretty okay with me since I won't have to deal with chest-binding and those 'awkward moments'. And I can gawk, squeal, and get all glaze-eyed at cute cosplayers without looking weird and out-of-character. LOL!

Though I'm absolutely nowhere near as pretty as Ruka (or Luca) in this cosplay, there are some characteristics that we both share. I can also be quite haughty, snobbish and bored; but also loyal and determined like her.

Now, prepare to see some scary-looking photos of me as I do my cosplay makeup. No, I'm not kidding. You've been warned. Heheh...

My no-makeup face -- cleansed, toned, and moisturised. As you can see, I've got bad skin... I'm also wearing my favorite Princess Mimi Chocolate lenses. Scary eyes are scary, hoho~

For the face: Lioele Secret Pore Rich Balm, Revlon Colorstay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin (220 Natural Beige), Maybelline AngelFit Perfect Concealer (01 Light Beige), Fanny Serrano Two-way cake (Duchess)

Lid wash

Crease and outer lid color

Browbone highlight

For shading the top sides of my nose near the eyebrows

For the eyes (first part): In2It Eyebrow Powder (Eyebrowns), ELF 100-piece eyeshadow palette (colors used are shown above -- sorry I'm not good at describing colors, made it a point to stick with neutrals), Fashion21 white eyeliner (for the waterline), Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick (01 Shooting Star -- for the tear duct areas)

For the eyes (second part): K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner (Super Black), In2It Waterproof Gel Liner (Very Black -- for tightlining and outer third part of the lower lashline), Avon SuperMagnify Mascara (Black), Fanny Serrano eyelash curler, Saizen false lashes (I super love these!)

For the cheeks and lips: ELF Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder, Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm (Anti-Oxidant Berry), Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick (Skin), Avon Glazewear clear lip gloss
And that's it!

Here's a photo from our makeup/costume 'practice' a week before the con, with Erika-neechan...

And at Cosplay Mania...

Ruka is the new endorser for Pocky??? Eheheh...

If you're curious as to how I'd look with this makeup and my own hair...

Tired of seeing my face now, no? Ahahahaa! I love how big and doll-like the eyes are especially the lashes, but I'm not sure if I can go out with this kind of makeup...

As for my Ruka Souen cosplay, it's clearly not the best and to be honest, I'm just moderately satisfied with it. I actually plan to redo it, particularly with better and more detailed costume. I'm okay with the wig (though I can do with a tad bit lighter one), I just need to improve its styling.

What do you think?
